An electronic portfolio is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the web. It contains similar information to what can be found on a CV or resume but is a place where one can expand upon these documents and offer potential employers a better understanding of one's abilities, experience, and skills.
During this workshop, students will learn about what typically goes into a professional e-portfolio. They will then have the opportunity to start a portfolio based on guided practice. Students will use WordPress to create the e-portfolio, but other options will also be introduced. Please bring your laptops.
A curriculum vitae contains a summary of one's experience and skills and is often the first chance you get to make a good impression on a potential employer. Typically, CVs are longer than resumes – at least two or three pages.
A cover letter is a document that you send with your resume or CV when applying for a job. It is meant to expand upon either of these other documents and argue why you'd be a good fit for the job.
