TESLing Awards and Certificates*

*Awards have also been created for the Spring Forum. These will be published along with information about the conference. 

 

Awards by Submission

Submissions will be accepted starting FEBRUARY 1st through APRIL 3rd. 
Submission documents should be sent to teslingclub@gmail.com with the name of the award in the Subject line. 

 

  • The Stephanie M. Link Annual Award for Outstanding Student TA

Annual award to recognize the work and dedication of a graduate student in the classroom

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a graduate student currently enrolled in the TESL or Linguistics program;

  • be the instructor of at least one course (online, face-to-face, or hybrid);

  • have at least one semester of student evaluations scoring 4.5 or higher for all courses taught;

  • submit latest cv or resumé; 

  • submit a letter of recommendation from a colleague (200 words max.)

 

  • The Stephanie M. Link Annual Award for Outstanding Student Researcher

Annual award to recognize the work and dedication of a graduate student in their research

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a graduate student currently enrolled in the TESL or Linguistics program;

  • submit a letter of recommendation from department professor (200 words max.);

  • submit an unstructured abstract of current research (250 words max.) OR

  • submit brief letter about submission and review process if research has been submitted to/accepted by a journal

Awards by Vote

Voting will open online in MARCH. 

 

  • TESLing Student Association President Award

Annual award to recognize the TESLing President’s work and dedication in coordinating initiatives to enhance the academic life of the membership  

The recipient must receive a favorable vote ("yes") from 51% of current active members (current TESL/Linguistics students, current faculty, and current club officers) who participate in the vote.

 

  • TESLing Student Association Award for Outstanding Professor

Annual award to recognize a professor in the TESLing whose work and dedication helped enhance the academic life of the TESLing membership.

The recipient must receive a majority of votes from current active members (current TESL/Linguistics students, current faculty, and current club officers) who participate in the vote. Ties are possible.

Certificates of Recognition

 

  • TESLing Roundtable Certificate of Recognition

Semester award to recognize those students who presented at a Roundtable session.

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a graduate student currently enrolled in the TESL or Linguistics program;

  • have presented at a Roundtable session.

 

  • TESLing Administration Certificate of Recognition

Annual award to recognize the effort and work of the members of the TESLing administration 

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a member of the TESLing administration

Certificates of Completion

 

  • TESLing Roundtable Certificate of Completion 

Semester award to recognize a student who actively participated in the Roundtable sessions

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a graduate student currently enrolled in the TESL or Linguistics program;

  • have attended four out of five (4/5) Roundtable presentations.

 

  • TESLing Professional Development Certificate of Completion 

Semester award to recognize a student who actively participated in the Professional Development workshops

CRITERIA

The recipient should:

  • be a graduate student currently enrolled in the TESL or Linguistics program;

  • have attended two out of the three (2/3) Professional Development workshops
